More Charcoaling 3rd June '26

The fun with charcoal continues. Enjoying going back through my photo archive and selecting images suitable for some tonal exploration.
Managed to squeeze in some time to choose what I wanted to submit for EDAN'S next exhibition.
Quick trip down to Richmond Station gallery this morning to collect work from a coastal themed show.
Then... huge week approaching...
Taking down Stronger Seams:Beyond Coal on Saturday, installing Extravaganza on Sunday, then delivering Coal themed work to the Arts Centre, Washington next Wednesday and talking to press and preview to sort.... sheesh... small steps, Jac, and remember to breathe.

Charcoal and Crows 10th May, '26

Had a fun three days at Lund Studios near Easingwold, York with charcoal specialist Kate Boucher. Lots of new techniques to incorporate into my work.

Beach Cleaners 28th April, '26

How lucky am I?
The lovely people who make regular volunteer beach cleaning visits to Durham's coast very kindly drop off at the gallery the kind of 'treasures' they know I love.
While I'm laid up with this dodgy ankle I will enjoy drawing these.
